@ Inspirante
Project Objective
Collect and compare data on products similar to Inspirante to determine where competitors have gone wrong, what they've gotten right, and where Inspirante can leverage market gaps to provide value.
Methodology
Generative - Qualitative
Competitive Audit
Study Overview
This project involved conducting an extensive competitive audit of career-planning and vocational assessment platforms available to users. All competitors in this space are organized and assessed on various metrics of interest related to our own product development, such as:
Additionally, adjacent assessment products - even if they are not competitors - have been catalogued and noted according to who we may need to emulate, avoid emulating, borrow from, or partner with down the line.
Findings
Analysis of competitors indicated that there were no payment-free products that afforded the user with the full suite of services we were hoping to provide with ours, confirming a gap in the market. Some features previously unconsidered to us also became thematically apparent, such as a community-based model to career planning, leading us to reconsider the direction of the MVP. Given the business model of our product, the insights from this work led us to take a step back and begin generative user interviews to ensure the elements we wanted to include were addressing real user needs.
